5 Tips for Selling Your Home Quickly!

Are you thinking about selling your home? Check out these great tips for help you sell your home quickly and for the most amount of money!


Tip #1 Paint

One of the cheapest, quickest, and easiest ways to add value to your home is to paint. For the interior, it is wise to paint with neutral colors like grays, tans, or even blues. Potential buyers do not want to walk into your daughter's purple bedroom. They want to be able to visualize your home as their own, so it is best to depersonalize by repainting with these neutral colors. Moreover, when you repaint, it helps to make your home look newer and cleaner, which appeals to buyers.


If the outside of your home is painted, then you should also repaint if you have not done so in the past year. Wood-sided homes that are not routinely painted look older and unkempt, which can turn away buyers. Do yourself a favor and invite the most number of potential buyers into your home by repainting your wooden siding.


Tip #2 De-clutter and Clean

When you go to sell your home, you should do a thorough cleaning of every aspect of the home because it makes the home appear newer than it actually may be. If you have carpets, have a professional clean them. If you have hardwood, it may be wise to give them a thorough wash. You should dust every inch and wash every wall. Potential buyers will be turned off by dirtiness because it makes the home look old and like it needs more updates than it does in reality.


You should also de-clutter your home for two reasons. Once, it helps to depersonalize the home, so buyers can envision living there. Secondly, it helps to make the rooms look bigger. If you have knick-knacks and furniture crowding a room, then the room will appear smaller, which can turn away potential buyers.


Tip #3 Take Great Pictures

When you advertise your home for sale, you will need to take pictures that will be distributed across hundreds of platforms to show as many potential buyers as possible. These pictures are the first impression that your home will make on potential buyers, so you want to make the best impression possible, so they will want to see your home in person. First, your pictures should be taken with great lighting and from as many angles as possible. The lighting will make your home seem more inviting and the multiple angles will show buyers how your home truly appears. Great pictures can make a huge difference when it comes to bringing potential buyers to your home to make an offer.


Tip #4 Make It Available to Show

In order to sell your home, people need to see your home. While some people will purchase a home without every stepping inside it, most do not, so they need to be able to see your home. Therefore, you need to make the home available to show as often and at as many times as possible. Of course, you should have an open house where many people may visit your home at once. But more than that, you should make your home available for private showings in case they cannot attend the open house or if they want to see it without being bothered by other potential buyers. Trust me, I have worked with sellers that make their homes easy to show and sellers that make it more difficult to show and the ones that make it easier to show always sell their homes faster.


Tip #5 Set the Right Price (with a professional)

When you put your home on the market, you must set the price right! If you set the price too high, no one will come see your home, and it will sit on the market for months and months. If you set the price too low, then you may lose out on making money. To set the right price, you should work with a professional real estate agent who knows the market and has the tools to set the price right. If you rely on Zillow or some other real estate website with proven inaccurate prices, then you will not get the most out of selling your home. Call a real estate agent to set the price right to sell your home quickly and make the most money!
